Challenge
Brazil’s cultural identity extends far beyond the references most commonly recognised internationally. The challenge was to present a broad range of topics in a way that was informative and approachable without reducing the country to familiar stereotypes. With content covering different regions, traditions, food and cultural misconceptions, the project also required a visual system capable of connecting multiple subjects while giving each poster enough flexibility to communicate its own story.
Objective
The objective was to transform educational content into a cohesive visual exhibition that could engage students from different cultural backgrounds. Inspired by the colours and symbolism associated with Brazil, the creative direction combined bold typography, photography and structured editorial layouts to establish a recognisable visual language across the series. A modular design system was developed around consistent typography, spacing and graphic elements, allowing different types and quantities of information to be accommodated without losing visual continuity. The series also included a “Heads Up” collection designed to address common misconceptions about Brazil through concise and approachable communication.
Results
The final poster series created a unified visual experience in which each piece could work independently while contributing to the wider cultural exhibition. The modular system provided consistency across different subjects while allowing photography, information and storytelling to remain central to each composition. The project transformed a collection of cultural and educational topics into an accessible visual narrative, supporting the event’s aim of introducing an international student audience to the diversity of Brazilian culture through design, information and storytelling.
